The basics
- Choose your combination of fruit.
- Add some nuts and/or seeds.
- Add some cinnamon (nutmeg words, too)
Other add-ins/ons:
- Unsweetened coconut
- Dried fruit
- Unsweetened yogurt
- Granola or muesli
Sample Recipes
Apple Strudel
- 1 apple
- a handful of raisins
- chopped walnuts
- a dash of cinnamon
Tropical Treat
- 1 orange
- 1 kiwi
- 1 date
- chopped pecans
- unsweetened dried coconut
- ground flax seeds
Banana Bowl
- 1 small banana or 1/2 a larger one or, heck, use a big banana
- 1 orange
- a handful of cacao nibs
- chopped almonds
- unsweetened dried coconut
Berry Bowl
- 1 cup of mixed berries – strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened yogurt (I use Forager’s non-dairy cashew yogurt)
- 1/4 cup of granola or muesli
Be Creative
The sky is the limit. You’ll learn amounts of ingredient combinations that taste good to you. Hungry, make a bigger bowl. Not so hungry, make a smaller one. Starting tip: go heavy on the fruit and sparingly on the extras (you can always add more).
